We are proud and fortunate to be part of the most beautiful part of South Africa, called The Garden Route.  This spectacular stretch, spans from Swellendam in the west to Tsitsikama in the east and from Mossel Bay in the south to the northern parts of the beautiful Karoo.

Game Drives

We have 3 big game farms in our area and they all produce great experiences.  By visiting them you will see the African BIG 5 and our nature at it’s best.  Be prepared and always have your camera at hand to capture these great experiences and keep them forever.

 

Shark Cage Diving

Shark Cage Diving is a must when you are in Mossel Bay and is one of our unique experiences.  This is completely safe and fun to do.  Mossel Bay is known as the breeding grounds of the Great White Shark and this is an amazing opportunity to see these majestic creatures in their own domain.

 

Sky Diving

Falling from 10 000ft is no joke – Its an amazing adrenalin rush and feeling! You can tandem sky dive right here in Mossel Bay or even jump on your own with instruction beforehand.  We would advise you to take the DVD option as well, as this is an unforgettable experience.

 

SCUBA Diving

Come and enjoy what  Mossel Bay and the Garden Route’s underwater world has to offer you.  From underwater gardens, to viewing Ragged tooth sharks lurking around in their caves.  SCUBA diving is a fun experience! Be careful, its one of those activities that will keep you curious for a lifetime.

 

Whale, Dolphin & Seal Island Boat Trips

Our boat trips in Mossel Bay can take you on different experiences.  You can view over 2500 seals on Seal Island as well as dolphins and whales.  Some of the operators will offer you a sunset cruise experience. This is a activity for the whole family.

 

Elephant Riding and Feeding

At some of the game farms in our area, you can choose to feed elephants or even take a ride on these massive animals. This activity is fun and interactive and is highly recommended. Kids really enjoy the close interaction with these gentle giants of Africa.

 

Ostrich Farms

A short drive away, just over the Outeniqua mountains, you will find Oudtshoorn.  Known for the unique Ostrich trade, you can view these birds up close and even ride them if you are brave enough.  When visiting South Africa this is a must as they can only be found here and in the Northern  African deserts.

Come and view these huge non flying birds.

 

Cango Wildlife Ranch & Crocodile Cage Diving

The Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn is a amazing place to visit. They will entertain your family with lions, cheetahs and tigers as well as birds, small animals, snakes and the feared crocodiles.  If you are up to it, you can even do a “Crocodile Cage Dive”.  This is quite unique and can be done here.

 

Cango Caves

The Cango Caves have been around for thousands of years and is a massive attraction for Oudtshoorn. Safe to visit, this is a very educational activity that will blow you away with information of the cave dwellers during the stone age and early settler’s times.  A few squeezes here and there, but really fun and adventurous.

 

Paragliding

The Garden Route will offer you with some of the world most beautiful paragliding spots.  This can be done in tandem with an experienced guide and is a great activity.  Flying like a bird in the air, seeing everything from above, makes this an amazing and satisfying activity.

 

Surfing

Mossel Bay and the rest of the Garden Route offers great surfing options.  Great spots can be found all along the Garden Route for different levels of surfing.  Right here at Diaz Beach, you can have surf training and it’s a easy break to practice on.  When you feel ready,  you can tame the barreling waves at Mossel Bay Point.

 

Quad Bike Adventures

You can have a quad bike ride to view game or just to travel through terrain that is not really accessible to vehicles.  This is a fun experience for the family with a few more challenging routes for the more experienced.

 

Horse Back Game Safaris

The game farms also offer guests options to view game by horse back.  This is a fun and more close to nature experience and will give you a chance to enjoy a horse ride as well.  Don’t worry, they don’t take you in to the lion camps etc, but all other game can be viewed up close.

 

Golfing

The Garden Route is truly South Africa’s golfing paradise and home to 10 great courses, five of which is championship courses.  Please view our Garden Route Golf page for more information on our golf courses and what they have to offer you.  Mossel Bay is also the home of Louis Oostuizen and Lee-Anne Pace.

 

Casino

The Garden Route Casino offer endless fun for adults.  A great casino with restaurant facilities, a big entertainment lounge (Bravo Lounge), and even activities for the kids.  During December, the Bravo Lounge will entertain you with top South African musical entertainers and comedians.

 

Wine Tasting

The Garden Route’s “Route 62” offers you a very enjoyable cultural wine tasting experiences.  Wine, liquer and other related beverages will test your taste buds on this famouse Route 62 wine route.  The scenic drive on this route is also amazing and please make sure to take your camera along for this experience.

 

Great Restaurants

The Garden Route offers great dining from Mossel Bay to Tsitisikama.  Please make sure to ask us which restaurants we would recommend for your trip and the town you might be visiting.  In Mossel Bay and Knysna you can also find fresh Oysters as well as West Coast crayfish and prawns.  The Garden Route is a seafood lover’s paradise.

 

Safe Beaches

All along the Garden Route’s coast you will find white sandy beaches safe to enjoy.  Some of our beaches is rated to be a Blue flag beaches with a lot of entertainment for the family.  These are the best beaches to take your family as it will be enjoyable for everyone.

 

Excellent Shopping

There are a few shopping malls in our area. The Langeberg Mall is only a 3 minute drive away from us and the big Garden Route Mall is located near George, a short scenic drive away.  For the rainy days and if you need to do some gift shopping, these two malls will provide you with what you need.

 

Deep Sea & Fly Fishing

Ever wanted to catch that big one?  Well here you can do that.  Daily deep sea fishing excursions leave our harbour and is great for fishing enthusiasts.  The Garden Route also offers fly fishing opportunities and you can ask us about spots and guides. The Garden Route has spectacular fishing and this is a fun activity for any fishing lover.

 

Hiking

The Garden Route is known for its beautiful nature and hiking trails.  From the inexperienced to the expert, the Garden Route will provide you with a nice challenge.  Great scenery all around with forest and beach hikes.  Remember to take your camera as well.

 

Mountain Biking Trails

Being centrally located in the Garden Route, we are cycling enthusiasts.  There are so many biking trails available from easy rides to challenging climbs.  We will guide you if you prefer and we can supply some mountain bikes as well.

 

Abseiling

Abseiling is a fun adventure and can be done in different levels.  From kids climbing walls to proper cliffs and drops.  This is a great activity that will give you a rush and provides great scenic opportunities. The local operator use top equipment and standards ensuring your safety to the fullest extent.

 

Bungy Jumping

The Garden Route is home to the highest commercial bungy in the world.  The Bloukrans Bridge (1.5 hour scenic drive away) will give you a bungy jumping experience of 216m high with a 8 second free fall. Be sure to book in advance as this is a very popular activity and normally booked up.

 

Scenic Canoeing

If you are looking for a more peaceful activity, we recommend canoeing on some of our rivers and lakes.  There are some areas, where you can combine canoeing and hiking with a picnic at a waterfall.  This is great for couples and families and will give you great scenery and bird life.

 

Sand boarding

The Garden Route have a sand boarding spot that is known as the longest sand boarding ride in South Africa.  This spot is close to Mossel Bay and all equipment and training is provided.  This is a fun activity and will give you a rush that you have never imaged to be able to get from playing on the dunes.

 

Jukani – Place of the Cats

Jukani is a special place where you can spend a whole day.  This cat sanctuary have lions, tigers, hyena, wild dogs, puma’s, cheetahs, mountain lions, leopard and black leopards along with other smaller animals.  This is a nice family outing and you can have a picnic in the middle of it all.  Your pass is valid for the day and you can join any of the group walks as well.

 

Waterfall Zipline

This is for the more adventurous, but a fun activity.  Basically it is zip lining from one cliff to another in front of a waterfall.  Please ask us for more information and details.

 

Black Water Tubing

This adventure is safe and fun.  Navigating down a river on tractor tubes in a group.  This doesn’t sound like much but it is a very thrilling activity.  Fun to do in groups so we would recommend this for families and friends.

 

Helicopter Trips

There are a few operators that will take you on a helicopter trip along our Garden Route.  From viewing game to spotting whales and sharks from the air, this is very relaxing and you can enjoy the beauty of the Garden Route from above.  Bookings are essential.

 

Walking with Lions

The Garden Route have a few unique activities and one of the newest activities is a walk with lions.  This is close to our guest house and is a very delightful experience.  It is safe and you will have the opportunity to interact and take photos with the King of the Jungle.  Bookings are essential and there is a 1.5 meter height restriction.

 

Tree top Canopying

The Garden Route have so much to offer and tree top canopying is a fairly unknown activity.  Swinging high above from one tree to the next is a fun activity for everyone and is highly recommendable. It is very safe and families and groups are welcome.
